Lighting Performance & Usage Context

The Red Rhino Taproom utilizes a 100% LED, scene-controlled lighting strategy that transitions from a bright daytime lounge to a dramatic nightlife experience while supporting staff operations and complementing the venue's industrial architecture.

Project Description

Originality: Features a custom “Pixelated Matrix”—a 3D grid of glowing cubes and red-stained OSB blocks with integrated spotlights, paired with warm grazing across raw brick.

Visual Impact: An amber-to-red palette delivers dynamic nightlife energy, turning microbrewery kegs into a red-lit backdrop alongside floating rooftop coves.

Usability: Glare-free backlighting enhances bar visibility, horizontal perimeter grazing guides walkways, and subtle step lights preserve skyline views.

Sustainability: Utilizes 100% CRI 90+ LEDs, automated 4-scene dimming to cut off-peak energy, and shielded optics to prevent light pollution.

Technical Quality: Features hidden structural steel framing, concealed wiring, remoted LED drivers for heat control, and a strict 2-step MacAdam ellipse color tolerance.

Contextual Relevance: Merges industrial architecture—exposed ducts and raw masonry—with elevated hospitality for an urban audience.
