Lighting Performance & Usage Context

Tevar's lighting strategy was developed to adapt to the changing rhythm of hospitality throughout the day. A layered composition of ambient, accent and decorative lighting creates visual hierarchy while ensuring comfort for dining, circulation and social interaction. Warm-to-dim technology allows the ambience to transition naturally from 3000 kelvin during the day to 2200 kelvin by evening, creating a progressively intimate atmosphere without altering the architectural character of the space. High colour rendering (CRI 92+) ensures accurate presentation of food, materials and finishes, while concealed architectural lighting enhances depth, texture and spatial definition. An integrated lighting control system enables each layer to respond independently, allowing the restaurant to shift seamlessly between operational modes while maintaining a consistent visual experience.

Project Description

Tevar was conceived as a contemporary interpretation of Indian hospitality, where lighting is woven into the architecture rather than applied as a finishing layer. The design celebrates materiality, craftsmanship and spatial rhythm through a carefully balanced hierarchy of light and shadow. Decorative luminaires establish a distinct visual identity, while concealed lighting quietly reveals texture, proportion and architectural detail without overwhelming the space. Instead of relying on brightness, the project uses contrast and restraint to create depth, intimacy and atmosphere. Every lighting decision contributes to an experience that evolves naturally throughout the restaurant, supporting both function and emotion while reinforcing the character of the architecture.
