For couturier Rahul Mishra’s 5,500 sq.ft. Mumbai flagship, we composed lighting that moves beyond conventional retail into an enveloping, museum-like journey. The design accentuates the brand’s flora and fauna vocabulary through architectural and theatrical layering: dappled projector light suggests sunlight through a canopy, upward shadows animate the ceiling with suspended birds, and a diffused faux skylight creates subtle daylight at the store’s heart. Low-glare, colour-matched fixtures, concealed grazers, LED coves, and precise object lighting keep the couture central couture and the ceiling quiet. Lighting also supports intuitive wayfinding, shifting from high-contrast gallery moments to clear retail zones. Multi-zone infrared dimming enables seasonal flexibility while reducing energy use and extending LED life. Through adaptive reuse of stock fixtures, local sourcing, and durable front-of-house fittings, our project aligns performance with circular design.
