Project Description

This profoundly elegant work uses mist and light to create a true experience of the sublime from materials familiar to our everyday lives. Designed to examine our relationship with nature, it uses elemental materials directly rather than emulating them with technology — producing multi-sensory, immersive experiences of pointed simplicity.
The half ring sits in a custom-built infinity reflecting pool, its circular form completed by its own reflection. In darkness the ring appears to float impossibly in space, emanating ghostly flames in all directions. The bespoke diamond profile means the viewer is rarely seen reflected in its surface, preserving full immersion in the work.
For this new development in Seoul the rooftop garden was designed as a relaxing public space. The corner location frames the view of the river’s bridge beyond, while the unique movement and textural quality of the illuminated mist registers as a striking presence from a distance
