DESIGNOOOR FZE is a registered entity based in the United Arab Emirates. D’Light Lighting Design Award is operating division and initiative conducted under the licensed activities of DESIGNOOOR FZE. All services, award programs, content, and related activities provided under D’Light Lighting Design Award are owned, managed, and operated by DESIGNOOOR FZE, and are subject to the applicable laws and regulations of the United Arab Emirates.

Welcome to the D’Light Lighting Design Award. By registering, submitting a project, or using this website, you agree to comply with the following Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please refrain from using this platform.

  1. Eligibility

Participation is open to individuals and teams worldwide who meet the competition’s role criteria (Professional, Student, or Academic). Participants must provide accurate personal information during registration. D’Light Lighting Design Award reserves the right to reject entries that violate ethical, legal, or submission guidelines.

  1. Submission Rules

All entries must be original works created by the participant(s). Submitted projects must not infringe on the intellectual property, copyright, or trademark rights of others. By submitting, you confirm that you hold full rights to the materials provided and that the content does not contain illegal, offensive, or discriminatory material.

Entries must be submitted through the official platform before the deadline. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

AI Usage Policy: The use of AI tools is permitted solely for retouching purposes within presentation materials, such as adding special effects or enhancing visual quality. However, participants may be required to submit their original 3D model to verify that the project was not entirely generated by AI tools. Purely AI-generated work without meaningful human authorship will not be accepted. All AI-assisted projects in which the concept or design is generated through code or prompts must be submitted under the designated AI-assisted category.

  1. Ownership & Usage Rights

Participants retain full ownership of their submitted designs. However, by entering the competition, participants grant DESIGNOOOR FZE (on behalf of itself and its operating divisions, including D’Light Lighting Design Award and Universal Lighting Platform) a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and publish submitted works for:

  • Promotion of the competition
  • Online and print publications
  • Exhibitions and press releases

All uses will include proper designer credit.

  1. Jury Process

Entries are reviewed anonymously by a panel of qualified judges selected by D’Light Lighting Design Award. All jury decisions are final and non-negotiable. The organizer reserves the right to disqualify any entry suspected of plagiarism, rule violation, or unethical conduct.

  1. Fees & Payments

Participation fees must be paid in full at the time of registration. Fees are non-refundable, except in cases of technical error or payment duplication. All payments are processed securely through third-party providers such as Ziina. The organizer does not store or access full payment details. Participants are responsible for covering any applicable transaction or currency conversion fees.

  1. Awards & Recognition

Winners will receive certificates, titles, or other forms of recognition as stated on the official website. The D’Light Lighting Design Award does not offer monetary prizes. Recognition cannot be exchanged, transferred, or converted into cash. The organizer reserves the right to modify award categories or recognition benefits without prior notice.

  1. Disqualification & Violations

The organizer may disqualify any entry, revoke any awarded title, and withdraw all associated benefits under the following circumstances:

  • Plagiarism or copyright infringement
  • Falsification of identity or professional credentials
  • Misrepresentation of project ownership, execution, or authenticity
  • Submission of offensive, illegal, or inappropriate content
  • Failure to meet submission criteria or comply with official rules, submission guidelines, or AI usage policies
  • Violation of copyright laws or ethical standards

No refund will be provided in case of disqualification. The organizer do not impose financial penalty fees on violators.

  1. Post-Announcement Violations & Copyright Claims

If, after the winners’ announcement or any subsequent publication, a third party provides conclusive legal proof (such as a court order, binding arbitration decision, or verifiable documentation) that a winning project violates the claimant’s copyright or intellectual property:

  • Revocation of Title:The winner’s title, certificate, and all award recognitions will be immediately revoked and declared null and void.
  • Return of Benefits:The violator must return any physical trophies received and forfeit all publication benefits (including digital yearbook features, interview opportunities, and media exposure) within 14 days of written notification.
  • Removal of Content:Any published content related to the disqualified project will be permanently removed from the D’Light Lighting Design Award website, digital yearbook, social media channels, and partner platforms.
  • Public Announcement:The organizer reserves the right to issue a public statement regarding the disqualification and its reasons to maintain transparency and preserve the integrity of the award community.
  • Permanent Ban:The violating participant may be permanently banned from submitting to any future editions of the D’Light Lighting Design Award.
  1. Indemnification (Protection for the Organizer)

By submitting an entry, the participant agrees to fully indemnify and hold harmless the organizer (Designooor FZE), its officers, employees, affiliates, and its operating divisions (including D’Light Lighting Design Award and Universal Lighting Platform) from any and all claims, damages, legal fees, lawsuits, or liabilities arising from:

  • Allegations of copyright infringement, plagiarism, or unauthorized use of third-party intellectual property
  • Disputes regarding the originality or ownership of the submitted work
  • Any legal action taken by a third party claiming that the participant’s entry violates their rights

This means: If a third party files a legal claim against the organizer (or any of its divisions, including D’Light Lighting Design Award or Universal Lighting Platform) because a participant submitted stolen or plagiarized work, the participant who submitted the work is solely responsible for all legal costs, damages, and attorney fees, not the organizer or its divisions.

  1. Limited Liability of of the Organizer

The organizer (including its operating divisions) serves only as the organizer and evaluator of submitted projects. The organizer does not:

  • Warrant, guarantee, or assume legal responsibility for the originality or ownership of any submitted work
  • Investigate the legal validity of ownership claims beyond reasonable good-faith efforts
  • Act as a court, arbitrator, or legal authority in disputes between participants and third parties

The organizer’s sole remedy in case of a verified violation is disqualification, revocation of title, removal of published content, and banning of the violator. The organizer shall not be liable for any monetary damages, loss of reputation, legal expenses, or other costs incurred by any participant or third party as a result of any dispute.

Additionally, the organizer shall not be held liable for:

  • Any data loss, corruption, or unauthorized access
  • Technical issues, server downtime, or software errors
  • Misuse of data by third-party service providers
  • Personal losses resulting from participation or platform use

Participation and data submission occur entirely at your own risk.

  1. Intellectual Property & Copyright (Website Content)

All texts, images, graphics, and content on this website are the property of the organizer and its divisions. Unauthorized copying, reproduction, or redistribution is strictly prohibited. Participants may only use official logos or promotional materials with prior written consent.

  1. Privacy & Data Protection

Personal data is collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using this website, you consent to such processing and confirm that all provided information is accurate.

  1. Modification of Terms

The organizer reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. The most recent version will always be available on dlightaward.com. Continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

  1. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising from the competition or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of UAE.

Participants waive any right to file a claim against the organizer (or its operating divisions) in any other jurisdiction.

  1. Force Majeure

The organizer (including its operating divisions) shall not be held liable for any delay, disruption, cancellation, modification, or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms if such delay or failure is caused by or arises from Force Majeure events.

Force Majeure includes, but is not limited to:

  • War, armed conflict, terrorism, or civil unrest
  • Earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, fires, or other natural disasters
  • Pandemics, epidemics, or public health emergencies
  • Government actions, sanctions, embargoes, or travel restrictions
  • Strikes, labor disputes, or infrastructure failures
  • Any other event beyond the reasonable control of the organizer

If a Force Majeure event occurs in:

  • The United Arab Emirates (the base country of Designooor FZE), or
  • The country of residence of the principal decision-makers or key leadership of the organization,

The organizer reserves the right to:

  • Postpone, reschedule, or cancel any award cycle, ceremony, or deadline
  • Modify submission, judging, or announcement procedures
  • Extend deadlines or temporarily suspend platform access

Participants expressly acknowledge and agree that in the event of complete cancellation of an award cycle due to a Force Majeure event, no portion of any entry fee or associated payment shall be refundable, and no participant shall be entitled to any compensation, prize, recognition, or other remedy arising from such cancellation.
