D’Light Lighting Design Award 2026

The following rules and guidelines apply to all participants of the D’Light Lighting Design Award. Entrants must carefully read and accept all terms before submitting any project.

  • Open to designers, architects, artists,
    brands, manufacturers, and students
    worldwide.

  • Submitted projects should not be older than five (5) years.

  • Students and graduates whose
    graduation date does not exceed
    one (1) year may select their account
    type as Student.

  • Students must upload a document
    proving their student status, or a
    graduation certificate showing that
    their graduation occurred within the
    past one year.

AI-Assisted Lighting Design
Celebrates lighting designs — including architectural projects, art-light installations, and products — created with the assistance of Artificial Intelligence.

Note: Submissions using AI tools must clearly demonstrate significant human creative input. Purely AI-generated work without meaningful human authorship will not be accepted. All AI-assisted projects must be nominated under this category. The D’Light Design Award reserves the right to disqualify any entry that fails to comply.

 

  • Images: 3–6 per entry, JPEG/PNG, 150–300 DPI, min. 2000px width, max. 5MB each.
    • Project Description: 500–1000 characters. Highlight originality, usability, aesthetics, sustainability, technical quality, and context.
    • Optional Uploads: Video (MP4, max. 20MB), Participants may upload drawings, sketches, plans, or any additional visual information in a single PDF file, with a
    maximum file size of 10 MB. (Optional)
    • Language: English only.
    • Submissions: Unlimited (each project submitted separately).

Important Notes
To ensure fair evaluation by the jury, entries must remain anonymous:
• No logos, names, or watermarks on images.
• Identity disclosed only in the designated submission form fields.

Failure to follow these rules may result in disqualification.

All entries are judged by the Grand Jury according to six key dimensions:

  1. Innovation & Creativity – originality, materials, and design approach

  2. Aesthetic Impact – emotional quality, design language, and visual harmony

  3. Functionality & Usability – performance, ergonomics, and user experience

  4. Sustainability & Responsibility – environmental and ethical considerations

  5. Technical Excellence – construction, materials, and production quality

  6. Contextual Fit – relevance to environment, culture, or audience

  • All jury evaluations are conducted anonymously.

  • Personal names, logos, or company identifiers are prohibited within images or project descriptions.

  • Violating anonymity rules may result in disqualification.

  • Entrants must be original creators or authorized representatives.
  • Entries must be free from third-party claims.
  • Collaborative/client projects must disclose proper credits and permissions.
  • AI-assisted projects must be disclosed with clear human authorship.
  • Entrants bear full responsibility for legal disputes; infringements lead to disqualification.

Entrants retain full copyright. By submitting, participants grant the D’Light Lighting Design Award a non-exclusive, royalty-free license for:
• Publications (online and print)
• Exhibitions and promotional activities
• Media, press, and award communications

All credits will always include participant’s name and project title.

Entries may be disqualified if:

  • Submission rules are violated (wrong file types, missing information, or visible branding)

  • False information or plagiarism is detected

  • AI usage is undeclared or misrepresented

  • Entry fee payment fails or is refunded

  • Copyright ownership cannot be verified

All disqualifications are final, and entry fees are non-refundable.

(This item will be delivered after the winners are announced.)

Note: Entry fees contribute to the administrative and evaluation costs of the award program, including the judging
process carried out by the international expert jury board. All entry fees are non-refundable once the submission has
been completed.

  • The Grand Jury consists of independent experts from the fields of design, architecture, lighting, and media.

  • All decisions of the jury are final and non-negotiable.

  • Jury members are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest prior to evaluation.

Winning the D’Light Lighting Design Award represents international recognition for excellence in lighting design.
Award recipients gain global exposure, professional recognition, and access to an international network of designers,
brands, and lighting professionals.

 

D’Light Award Trophy
Top winners will receive the official D’Light Award Trophy, a prestigious symbol of excellence in lighting design,celebrating outstanding creativity, innovation, and impact in the field of lighting.


Winner Badge & Label
Award recipients receive the official D’Light Winner Badge and Label, which may be used on websites, portfolios,
marketing materials, presentations, and product communications to highlight the award-winning status of the
project.

Winners receive a one-year complimentary professional membership to the Universal Lighting Platform (ULP),

journalists of Designooor Lighting Media.

Permanent Online Archive
Winning projects will be permanently archived and showcased on the official D’Light Lighting

Design Award website
and promoted through its global communication channels.


Digital Winners Book
Outstanding winning projects will be featured in the official D’Light Award Digital Winners Book, documenting the
most remarkable lighting design projects of the year.


Global & Country Rankings
Winning projects will be listed and ranked both globally and by country, increasing international visibility for
designers, studios, and brands.


International Media Exposure
Winning projects may receive coverage through D’Light Award media partners, international design platforms, and
independent industry magazines, helping winners reach a wider global audience.


Jury Feedback Reports
An optional detailed feedback document from the jury, highlighting strengths and improvement points

By submitting an entry, the participant confirms:

  • Full acceptance of all rules and terms

  • Ownership or full authorization to submit the work

  • Disclosure of all collaborators and AI involvement

  • Acknowledgment that all jury and organizer decisions are final
